• Application Server-It is used for deploying CE,workplaceXT and related Java Services.
• Content Engine-It is an IBM FileNet P8 component i.e used to mange Object Stores that holds all information i.e Custom Objects ,Documents and enterprise -wide workflow objects.
• Process Engine-It manages Business Processes(workflows)
• WorkplaceXT(Application Engine)-A end user web application that provide access to the document management capabilities and tightly integrated with Bussines Process Capabilities .

Note-It enables the business users to access followings

-Object Store  on the Content Engine

-Workflow information on the Process Engine

What is the diff b/w workplace and WorkplaceXT?

1-WorkplaceXT  comes with FNet P8 4.0 onwards by default,while workplace comes with Fnet 3.5

2-WorkplaceXT is faster and user friendly and has the feature like drag and drop.

3-WrokplaceXT uses JSF

4-Workplace XT does not provide a development environment for customization; however, Workplace continues to provide the Workplace Application Toolkit and related development tools for Workplace customization.
